Dear Crone 07:32
when I see your face darlin' then I'll know which stones will stand and which words were hollow I'm the ripple that knows its own shape your the river that'll wash me away when I see your face oh, you'll wash me away and nothing will be resolved when I hear your name darlin' I'll forgive every step I take and every day I lived I'm the lantern that burns through the night you're the darkness that receives the light when I hear your name oh, please receive my light and nothing will be resolved silence is the start of every act of providence prepares ground for pieces of her sweet intent rushing towards the embrace of your born to be extinguished by your kiss

Cold Solder 03:18
high times come again back when we were friends rolling down the hill singing "I'll Be Ramblin' On" I'm not saying it's a drag but, best friends I ever had couldn't face the day without some fire in their hands I'm moving on, hope you become... never ever would've dreamt we'd plumb the depths of our contempt for anyone who had something else going on sure it's fun for a while to sneer while others smile showing off the cages that we wrapped around our heads I'm not the judge who sits empty-eyed, resenting it's not a crutch to believe in something when your mind's made up there's no going back though the tables may turn and river's run black it will all wash away as the water recedes but that doesn't mean we're free saw you at the epilogue I forgot how much you talked nothing much to say between the I and mine hope you know I wish you well. I'm sure it's hard to tell I grow so reserved when I travel far from home mist through the pines soon obscures the sight of what's behind but still you walk through the same woods as mine so you can drop me a line anytime

Salt Spray 05:36
from the center of the mirror spreads a faint distortion driving towards the edge unknown when it breaks releasing all elation it leaves only the salt spray
5.
Veil 02:51
so, I made up my mind to get out of the last game and now I'm out, out on a line tied to a past name summer has come but I don't feel heat winter is gone, but I can't let go of sleep I know it's hard, it's so hard there's nothing I can do under the veil but so near I can taste it in the dark of the new moon we're here too

close your eyes and I'll be with you any minute it's been a long time keep your lies I won't reveal you to the aching light that circles round our window every time we reach an ending things just circle back the same doesn't matter how the sun shines the wind always brings rain listen to the creaking timbers sigh as they accept the fullness of the moon I'll possess the fevered splendor that saturates your view and cover you with a travel-worn blanket every time we reach an ending things just circle back the same doesn't matter how the sun shines the wind always brings rain

about

Dear Crone is a meditation on cycles. How they exist within ourselves and how we exist within them. The comfort of their continuance and the awe of their indifference.

Core tracks were recorded in the former sanctuary of the Temple Beth Hatfiloh in Olympia, WA direct to analog tape, then were transferred to computer for overdubs and mixing. Unreasonable care was given to capture the ambient sound of the room so as to avoid the use of synthetic reverberation.
